The firebrand congresswoman is expected to become the former president’s de facto representative in the new House
Marjorie Taylor Greene, once shunned as a pariah by Republican leaders, is set to lead a “red wave” that takes back the House of Representatives in the midterm elections on Tuesday.
The firebrand congresswoman, who has been called a “warrior” by Donald Trump, is expected to become highly influential in the new Congress, becoming the former president’s de facto representative in the House.
It means Republican leaders will come under increasing pressure to accede to demands from Ms Greene, which will include cutting funding to the Ukrainian military.
At a rally with Mr Trump in Iowa earlier this week, Ms Greene said: “The only border they [Democrats] care about is Ukraine. Not America’s southern border. Under Republicans, not another penny will go to Ukraine. Our country comes first.”
