Donald Trump employee at Mar-a-Lago in court over classified documents

One of Donald Trump’s junior employees at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida went before a judge in Miami on charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice and lying to investigators.

Carlos De Oliveira, 56, who is listed in the indictment as a “property manager” at Trump’s home, is accused of trying to hide evidence in a case in which the former president is accused of hoarding hundreds of boxes of classified documents.

Prosecutors, led by Jack Smith, the special counsel, added De Oliveira to the indictment last week, alleging that he concealed security camera footage at Mar-a-Lago after the Justice Department issued a subpoena for it last year.

De Oliveira’s lawyer last week declined to comment on the allegations. It is believed that the defendant is
