He told The Mirror: "I always say this, if this were normal politics and a normal guy, I would say that these things would be disqualifying. For any kind of presidential candidate. "But obviously, neither of those two ifs are true here. I would have thought that the drip drip drip of these criminal and now civil legal problems would have eroded a lot of his support by now. And one would have thought that what we learned about his behaviour before, during and after January 6, and after the November election would have really diminished some of the support even of his deepest supporters." Trump has slammed the accusations against him as politically motivated. Attending the civil trial in New York, where he is accused of overvaluing his net worth by billions of dollars, he called the lawsuit a 'sham,' a 'scam,' a waste of the state's time and 'a continuation of the single greatest witch hunt of all time.'
