Former House of Representatives speaker Paul Ryan has insisted that Donald Trump shouldn’t be the Republican Party nominee for the next US Presidential election in 2024. Speaking to Fox Business Mr Ryan who represented Wisconsin for the Republicans from 1999 and 2019 said that the “new swing voter” in American politics were suburban voters. The 2012 Vice Presidential nominee added that the New York born property mogul was a turn off and potentially a vote loser because of his lack of appeal to suburbia. He said: “That new swing voter in American politics is the suburban voter, and it’s really clear the suburban voter doesn’t like Trump, but they like Republicans.’So I think anybody not named Trump, I think is so much more likely to win the White House for us.”However, in the 2016 Presidential election Mr Trump beat Hillary Clinton 50 percent to 45 percent among suburban voters, according to exit polls.
