The story pretty much picked up where things left off with Preacher Middleton (played by Colin Lawrence) facing off against a vengeful Vince Logan (Steve Bacic). Vince wanted to know the truth about his twin brother Wes (also Bacic) as he confronted Paige Lassiter (Lexa Doig) in the cabin. Thankfully, detective Mike Valenzuela (Marco Grazzini) showed up at the last minute to arrest Vince as he was hauled away, yelling about Paige murdering Wes. Despite his words, it looked like this chapter had been brought to a close with Paige and her son Christopher (Chase Petriw) finally safe from the evil clutches of Vince. Paige decided she and Christopher needed to make a new start with the mother and son leaving Virgin River. Preacher was heartbroken but knew he had to let her go, even though he’d just ended his blossoming romance with Aikido instructor Julia (Lucia Walters). Paige felt like there were too many memories in Virgin River and she wanted to make a fresh start with her son elsewhere.
