With the 60th Doctor Who special fast approaching, fans of the long-running BBC show have been given a glimpse at David Tennant in action. To celebrate the huge milestone, the Scottish actor is returning as the 14th Doctor, although he will play the role like he did in 2015 as the 10th Time Lord. Sharing a behind-the-scenes snap of David in action on their official Twitter, fans got a sneak peek at his new costume. David appears to be wearing a navy waistcoat over a white shirt and is looking to the side. Standing in a room filled with artwork on the walls in the first instalment of the three specials. With a clapperboard in the frame, the account teased there are more behind-the-scenes images to come in the run-up to the episode airing. The caption read: “Welcome to #WhoSpy! I’ll be your very own spy on set during the filming of #DoctorWho, keep your eyes peeled for more updates.” It wasn’t long before fans shared their excitement over seeing David back in action after over a decade. @fish1145082 commented: ‘Ohhh he’s so handsome! Speaking about his return on This Morning, David said: ‘It was like being handed a very lovely present. It was joyous. ‘It was great fun. It was a very happy joyous time on set 15 years ago, and returning to that could’ve been – might’ve felt awkward, it might have felt difficult. I might not have been able to run as fast! ‘We had a lovely time. Russell T Davies is back running the show, it felt like we’d never been away… That’s all you’re getting!”
