Prime Minister Rishi Sunak refused to say if he had spoken to Matt Hancock before he headed to Australia and said he ‘genuinely won’t have time’ to watch him on the show
Rishi Sunak has slapped down Matt Hancock for abandoning the Commons to appear on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’ – and said he won’t be watching.
The Prime Minister said he was “very disappointed” by his former Cabinet colleague’s decision to jet to Australia to join the hit reality show, which began last night.
Mr Sunak refused to say if he had spoken to the ex-Health Secretary before he headed to Oz, and said he “genuinely won’t have time” to watch him take part in Bushtucker trials.
The Tory party suspended the whip from Mr Hancock after the news broke of his jungle stint, which could see him spend up several weeks in Australia.
