Diablo 4 Metacritic score drops to 1.9 following disastrous patch

Following backlash to the latest Diablo 4 patch, Blizzard admits it was a mistake and vows to never launch another patch like it.

Players being angry about Diablo 4 is nothing new. Despite enjoying strong reviews and a successful launch, people have had plenty to complain about, such as its server shutdown issues and needing to make a new character for every season of content.

However, it seems the latest controversy has caused enough of a stir for the team at Blizzard Entertainment to seriously address the poor reception.

The controversy in question is the latest 1.1.0 patch, which dropped about a week ago and is apparently so bad that the developers have pledged to never make another like it.

For context, the 1.1.0 patch changed a lot, but what seems to have angered players the most are the various nerfs across popular character builds and changes to the reward system that people think makes the endgame even more of a sluggish grind.
