When the amniotic fluid, or even other parts of the foetus like cells and hair, enter the mother's bloodstream, they cause her pulmonary system to collapse — meaning her heart and lungs fail, and she dies. The condition is almost always fatal, and though doctors worked for over two hours to save Tyler, according to Roach, she ultimately succumbed to the condition. "Her team of doctors went above & beyond to save her," the grandmother wrote on the GoFundMe page. "After 2 hours, they called her gone." In an interview with Oklahoma News 4, Roach said Tyler would "come around for a minute or so" before coding again, eventually dying.
