She criticised Barbie's being bought by kindergartens 'at state expense', saying they flout Putin's laws banning 'LGBT propaganda' among children. She objected to 'a Barbie in favour of abortion', asking: 'How long will we keep these 'dolls' on our shelves?' She said Barbie was an advertisement for the values of Joe Biden's Democratic Party in the US, and should not be imported into Russia. "I am categorically against the appearance of dolls in our stores, for example, transgender people, or dolls that promote same-sex relationships," said Butina.
