Jurrien Timber has become the second signing of the summer transfer window for Arsenal, who are now focused on getting Declan Rice completed before their trip to the US
Arsenal have completed the £40million signing of Jurrien Timber â and hope to have Declan Rice on their flight to the United States.
Netherlands defender Timber, 22, has signed a five-year contract and will travel on the club’s pre-season tour to America, which leaves with a flight to Washington on Sunday. Arsenal have also submitted the paperwork to West Ham for Rice’s move with now just the final details to be completed.
Arsenal agreed a £105m fee for Rice two weeks ago, but the reality is that they only got into the final stages of the deal once the clubs had agreed the structure of the payments. Rice was given an extended break after England duty, but is now back in the United Kingdom ready to complete his move and for it to be announced.
England star Rice will then fly out with his new team-mates before Arsenal play an MLS All Stars game in Washington next Wednesday.
