West Ham have completed the £30million signing of James Ward-Prowse, but David Moyes isn’t done targeting British players like Harry Maguire before the summer transfer window closes
David Moyes is winning his battle to get a British backbone at West Ham.
âThe Hammers have completed a £30million deal with Southampton to sign England international James Ward-Prowse. They have also agreed a £30m deal with Manchester United to sign Harry Maguire who is discussing personal terms and weighing up a move to West Ham.
âBut West Ham are clearly backing Moyes as they also explore a potential move for Burnley’s Josh Brownhill. West Ham have also signed Mexico midfielder Edson Alvarez in a £35m deal with Ajax as the club reinvests the £105m cash from selling Declan Rice to Arsenal.
âThey could also lose Lucas Paqueta who is a target for Manchester City but it is clear that Moyes wanted to have a more English spine in his team as they look to rebuild and strengthen after last season’s Europa Conference League success. Moyes has also won his battle to spend how he wants to ensure that, despite losing Rice, they have a dressing room with homegrown stars.
