David Baddiel, Frank Skinner give first glimpse at revamped Three Lions anthem

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

David Baddiel and Frank Skinner have given fans a first look at the revamped version of Three Lions, being released in time for the 2022 World Cup.

Three Lions was first released by Frank, David and Lightning Seeds frontman Ian Broudie in 1986 as England battled it out in the World Cup in Mexico, and the men’s team still haven’t quite managed to ‘bring it home.’

Now, three decades later, a new version of the song is being released for the Qatar World Cup, which reflects the event taking place in December – and the fact the women’s team have succeeded in bringing football home.

David and Frank appeared on Thursday’s The One Show where they spoke about the new version of the song, which is both a football anthem and festive song, thanks to the 2022 tournament being held in the lead-up to Christmas.
