Dan Wootton admits ‘errors of judgment’ but claims he is victim of ‘witch hunt’

GB News presenter addresses allegations he offered media colleagues thousands of pounds for explicit material

Dan Wootton has conceded he has previously made “errors of judgment” but insisted any “criminal allegations” against him are untrue. The 40-year-old former tabloid journalist and broadcaster told viewers on his Tuesday night GB News show that he has been the “target” of a “smear campaign”.

It comes as he addressed reports published in Byline Times that claim he offered media colleagues thousands of pounds for explicit material of themselves.

Wootton spoke about recognising that he is a “polarising figure” and talking to viewers could mean public attention. He said: “As a journalist, I feel uncomfortable being the story but I’ve always promised you that this show has no spin and no bias and no censorship so I owe it to you to address this.”

‘There are dark forces out to try and take this brilliant channel down. And that’s because GB News is the biggest threat to the establishment in decades, and they will stop at nothing to destroy us.’@DanWootton pic.twitter.com/Kfnp3pRsiZ
