A dad from California died trying to protect his three sons in a plane crash that killed him. All three of Jared Newman’s young boys were onboard at the time of the incident
A new pilot and dad-of-three managed to save his sons during a plane crash that took his life, his widow has said.
Jared Newman, 39, was piloting a single-engine Cessna 172 that crashed in the parking area of French Valley Airport in California, situated roughly 80 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
His bereaved partner has said in a post made to an online fundraising page that Jared, from Temecula, California, “made sure he protected” his sons during the crash on July 4.
Boys Connor, Caleb and Elijah were all onboard at the time of the crash and they are in stable condition at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
