Dad spared jail for acting out ‘rape fantasy’ in car park next to graveyard

A dad was bundled to the floor by a have-a-go hero who thought his ‘rape fantasy’ was a real sex attack.

Jamie Borrett, 34, was arrested at the scene in a car park next to St Mary’s Church Yard and Scarborough Castle at around 9.30pm on September 9.

Shocked witnesses Amie Woodhead and Richard Thomas were parked up watching an electrical storm over South Bay when they spotted a young woman walking nearby.

In between lightning flashes, they saw her grabbed around the neck from behind and shoved up against a wooden fence rail by a man who then tried to yank down her tracksuit bottoms.

Martin Butterworth, prosecuting, told magistrates in the seaside town: ‘She was shouting “Get off me”. He did not stop. He pulled down his shorts. She continued to shout, “Get off me”.
