NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
A father has been accused of causing the death of his young son on a motorway.
Matthew Rycroft, 36, was walking on the M62 with his son Callum, 12, on Saturday night (August 5) after allegedly crashing an Audi on a motorway slip road near Huddersfield.
They were then both hit by a Toyota. Callum was killed in the crash and his dad was injured.
The Toyota driver, a 47-year-old man from Bolton, Greater Manchester, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and he’s been released on bail pending further enquiries.
