A survey of 2,000 parents of kids aged from under one to 18, found that 53% now go on more staycations than holidays abroad. The research, commissioned by Premier Inn, also sought to find what the top staycation options are for UK parents, with Scotland's capital Edinburgh taking fifth place, and England's capital London coming in fourth. Then beachy Devon placed third, and Cumbria's Lake District was the runner-up. And the location that nabbed the top spot? Staycation staple Cornwall was named the very best family trip destination in the UK. A spokesperson for Premier Inn said: 'It can be hard choosing the right places that are suitable for everyone, which is why it's great that a lot of these places are just a car journey away.
