The lawyer for Scotland’s Covid-19 victims has called for a return to masks in hospitals and free testing in response to “a dangerous feeling of dejà vu” as a new variant of the virus takes hold.
Aamer Anwar said in a letter to the first minister that his clients, the families of those who died from Covid in Scotland, feared the health authorities were in danger of repeating mistakes “despite hindsight”.
Anwar is the lead lawyer for the Scottish Covid Bereaved group at the public inquiry into how the pandemic was handled. His letter to Humza Yousaf, first published by the Mail on Sunday, focused on the dangers of Pirola, a mutation of the Omicron variant that pushed up deaths in late 2021 and early
