 Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) in Coronation Street learns a little more about the harsh reality of working in the NHS in upcoming episodes. Ed's wife, Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw), works as a nurse at Weatherfield General Hospital. Over the years she's supported a variety of characters with their problems, had to stay elsewhere during the Coronavirus pandemic and most recently, faced nightmarish boss Mr Thorne, who often used his high-powered job to his advantage. In upcoming episodes, it's Michael (Ryan Russell) who ends up in the hospital but he's there to support newcomer Cassie (Claire Sweeney) who experiences pain after being confronted by a drug dealer called Dean, who we previously met when Abi (Sally Carman) relapsed after her one-night stand with Imran (Charlie de Melo). Cassie meets Dean after lying to Tyrone (Alan Halsall) about visiting the Citizens Advice Bureau, and things descend into chaos when Dean confronts her about how much money she owes him. With Cassie and Michael waiting in the hospital, Dean follows and so does Ronnie (Vinta Morgan), who arrives just as Michael and Dean are arguing. Michael tries to help out, but it ends terribly (Picture: ITV) When Dean punches Michael, Ronnie reckons they should call the police, but Cassie begs them not to. Later on, after Michael tells Ronnie that this sort of thing happens to Aggie all of the time, he's shocked. He then uses the information to get Ed to go in on their new business deal which would eventually mean Aggie could retire. But will he agree? And most importantly, will Aggie want to say goodbye to her job?){kind=link}
