Police searching for an escaped murderer are blasting his mother’s voice from a helicopter, encouraging him to surrender.
Danelo Cavalcante broke out of the Chester County Prison, about 30 miles west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, last Thursday. The district attorney, Deb Ryan, described the 34-year-old as “an extremely dangerous man.” The Brazilian national was convicted of first-degree murder on August 16 for killing his former girlfriend, 33-year-old Deborah Brandão, in 2021. He was sentenced to life without parole last week and is also wanted in Brazil on suspicion of another murder.
A jury took just 15 minutes to convict Cavalcante of killing Deborah Brandao, his girlfriend of two years, in front of her children at her home in Schuylkill Township in April 2021. Prosecutors said he was angry that she planned to disclose the charges in Brazil. They stem from a 2017 slaying according to Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan.
