It’s still early days, but the Control sequel is not only official but slated to release for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Although it was never specified as such, Control 2 was already all but confirmed last year, with developer Remedy Entertainment announcing it was making a ‘bigger-budget Control game.’
At the time, it seemed unlikely we’d hear anything more for several years, considering that a multiplayer spin-off is supposed to be coming out first and developer Remedy is also busy with Alan Wake 2.
That plan doesn’t seem to have changed, but Remedy can now officially say that the sequel is titled Control 2 and that it will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
It’s also explicitly described as a ‘full blown sequel,’ meaning fans can expect to see it continue the first game’s plot and bring back protagonist Jesse Faden.
