Georgie Grier, who shared a photo of herself in tears when an Edinburgh show flopped, had been through the same experience in 2022
The comedian who was consoled by celebrities after revealing that only one person turned up for her Edinburgh Fringe show told a similar tale of woe a year ago.
Georgie Grier shared a photo of herself in tears on Twitter after her one-woman show Sunsets flopped at the Fringe this year, and a subsequent performance sold out after her emotional reaction attracted messages of support from top British comedians and Hollywood star Ben Stiller.
It has emerged that Grier had a similarly disappointing initial show at the Fringe in 2022, when the only ticket holders for her Sunsets show were her own parents.
On that occasion, she posted on Twitter following the experience, writing: “Just had a cry because the only people who turned up to my first show were my parents.”
