A three-Test series against Australia would follow the match against Trans-Tasman side
Australia and New Zealand are in talks about forming a combined ANZAC team to face the British and Irish Lions in 2025.The last time a Trans-Tasman side played against the Lions was on the 1989 tour to Australia and organisers are confident the combined Wallaby and All Blacks team would be a huge draw for fans.
The three-Test series against Australia would follow the match which could be held at the MCG.
“We’ve talked to the Kiwis about hosting an ANZAC team against the Lions in 2025 and they’re considering the idea,” Rugby Australia Chairman Hamish McLennan told Sportsmail.
“I’m in no doubt it would be a belter and we’d sell the MCG out with 100,000 fans.”
