Colleagues who worked with serial killer suspect share signs ‘something was off’ with him

Two individuals who say they worked with the Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect say they ‘knew something was off’ just by the way he ‘would talk to people,’ describing him as a boaster who frequently didn’t come through on promises

On the afternoon of the arrest of Rex Heuermann, the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, media and associates of the man swarmed his office building in midtown, New York.

Heuermann has now officially been charged with murder in the deaths of three of the 11 victims in a long-unsolved string of killings known as the Gilgo Beach murders. Authorities say he is also the “prime suspect” in another killing.

Heuermann, 59, an architect, was arrested at his home in Massapequa Park this morning. Recent bail documents allege that he was making phone calls from a burner phone to the phones of the murdered women right from his midtown office and other areas nearby.

Two associates working in the architectural field that requested they not be identified made their way to Heurmann’s offices when they heard the news – telling reporters that their work group chat was buzzing.
