Cleaning fans have praised a 65p cupboard staple that can transform your dull and ‘dingy’ towels to be bright white once again – and it even helps kill odours too
If you have white towels in your bathroom, then you know that after a while they stop being bright white and start to take on a dull and dingy grey shade, no matter how many times you wash them.
And while having old towels on display might be unsightly, it turns out you don’t have to rush out and spend money on replacing the bathroom must-haves – as there’s an easy way to restore the white gleam to your towels without having to break the bank.
In fact, according to one cleaning expert, all you need to get your white towels looking as good as new is one kitchen cupboard staple that you probably already have at home. And if you don’t, it could cost you as little as 65p to pick some up from your nearest supermarket.
Deyan Dimitrov, CEO of Laundryheap, said the best thing to use when tackling towels that have lost their shine is to add half a cup of baking soda – also known as bicarbonate of soda – to your washing machine along with your usual detergent.
