Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has provided an update on Joe Burrow’s fitness as the quarterback continues his recovery from a calf injury sustained during practice
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has provided an update on Joe Burrow’s recovery from injury.
The Bengals quarterback has been recovering from a calf injury that he sustained during practice on July 27. Burrow was carted off the field during an 11-vs-11 drill after collapsing to the floor in discomfort and was taken to the medical room for treatment.
It was later confirmed that Burrow had sustained a calf injury and would be facing “several weeks” on the sidelines in recovery. As a result, there have been doubts over whether or not Burrow will recover in time to feature in the Week One game of the 2023 NFL regular season against the Cleveland Browns.
Burrow sustained an ACL injury during his rookie year in the NFL in 2020. He subsequently spent nearly a year on the sidelines recovering before returning at the start of the 2021 season.
