Chupi jewellery thriving with new ‘next-gen’ Dublin store set to open

Chupi Sweetman’s house is, like everything else the jewellery entrepreneur does, perfectly on brand. Gold tones feature prominently, from the brass sunbeam table and sideboard by Swoon Editions to the copper-clad kitchen by Patrick Cosgrove and Elements of Action. Gilt mirrors and metallic artworks by Gráinne Bath Enright, an embroidered piece by Domino Whisker and a framed silver spoon by Annemarie Reinhold embellish the walls.

Yet that is not to say that everywhere is perfection. There’s a lived-in feel that you’d expect from a home where three generations live, and while there may be custom-built cabinets, the couch has her daughter Aya’s scribbles on it, Japanese paper lampshades take the place of elaborate chandeliers and the bathroom is what Sweetman calls “Sopranos-style”.
