Christopher Eubanks breaks 31-year Wimbledon record despite defeat

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Wimbledon fan-favourite Christopher Eubanks has made history by breaking a 31-year record held by Andre Agassi during his quarter-final match.

Eubanks took on world No.3 Daniil Medvedev and was close to producing yet another shock before the Russian battled back to win 6-4 1-6 4-6 7-6 6-1.

The world No.43 headed to SW19 as a relatively unknown player who had never progressed past the second round of a Grand Slam before this year’s tournament.

But Eubanks won over crowds with his entertaining, high-risk style of play and admits he feels like an ‘honorary Brit’ after enjoying the ride of his life at the Championships.
