A migrant shipwreck in the Mediterranean has killed 41 people, four survivors of the sinking have told police in Italy after they were saved at sea by a passing cargo vessel.
The survivors, from Ivory Coast and Guinea, reported that the the seven-metre (23ft) metal boat was flipped over by a wave hours after setting out from Sfax, a port in the south of Tunisia, last Thursday.
Three children were among the 41 drowned, they told police after arriving on the Italian island of Lampedusa, according to Italian media reports.
