Chelsea kicked in teeth by Mason Mount’s dad as Old Trafford dressing room footage emerges

Mason Mount’s message to Chelsea supporters Mason Mount has rubbed salt in the wound for Chelsea after footage emerged of the new Manchester United signing lauding his ‘special’ surroundings as he explored his new home for the first time. The £60million midfielder left his boyhood club after 17 years with the Blues to join Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford this summer, and while the reaction to Mount’s departure has generally been positive from Chelsea’s side, supporters may not be happy when they hear his latest comments. The 24-year-old was officially presented as a United player earlier this week after agreeing to sign a lucrative £250,000-a-week contract until 2028, which could rise to £300,000 with bonuses. And despite posting an emotional farewell to Chelsea fans, Mount has wasted no time in getting acquainted with his new club, taking a tour of Old Trafford with his entire family having already linked with his new team for pre-season. Pictures had already emerged of the England international hugging his new colleagues, including a warm embrace with Lisandro Martinez. But video footage of Mount on Manchester United’s YouTube channel with his father, Tony, could leave some Chelsea fans with a stinging feeling. In one clip that has gone viral on social media, Mount is spotted taking in the enormous dressing room at the Theatre of Dreams with his dad. Their conversation is picked up in the footage while they pose for photos, with Mount Snr telling his son: “Mason, this dressing room man. Home mate, home. “Who would have thought, when I brought you up here as a little boy?” And the ex-Chelsea man, smiling, replied: “I know, special isn’t it?” Mount made his first visit to the 74,000-capacity stadium with his father when he was a boy and was in the crowd for Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic free-kick against Portsmouth back in 2008. And it seems that experience has stuck with both men as they toasted to a new chapter in his career.
