Chelsea boss Potter told ‘missing part’ that can be found in January

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has been told that there is just one ‘missing part’ from his side after the Blues’ 2-1 win away to RB Salzburg on Tuesday. Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz got the goals either side of a Junior Adamu finish as Chelsea secured their place in the Champions League knock-out stages.Chelsea are unbeaten in Potter’s opening nine games in charge, but there have been concerns over their potency up front. Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor believes the ‘missing part’ is a sharper striker, as opposed to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. ‘The only missing part I thought for Chelsea was Aubameyang’s finishing,’ Agbonlahor told talkSPORT after their Salzburg victory.’The one where they had about 15 passes and it gets played across to him from Havertz, I feel like a sharp striker takes the right touch and dinks the ‘keeper there, finishes it. Maybe that’s what Chelsea are missing to go for the title.’But the way they are playing, you would not want to get them in the knock-out stages in the Champions League because they are playing some good football, they get a chance to rotate players, Mason Mount [was] on the bench, so they are looking very good and Havertz, he is starting to score these screamers.’READ MORE: Man Utd boss Ten Hag shuts down reporter over Ronaldo – ‘I won’t answer’ Graham Potter has enjoyed a good start to life as Chelsea boss. The Gabon forward has scored three goals in nine appearances this season, as Potter has experimented with different options up front.Armando Broja was given the chance to lead the line in the 0-0 draw away to Brentford, while Havertz has also been tried as a striker against Wolves, where the German got a goal. Potter has explained that he is wary of over-using the 33-year-old, as he only played nine minutes when the Blues were chasing a winning goal against Thomas Frank’s side.DON’T MISSMan Utd finally have a Roy Keane successor ahead of Sheriff clashArsenal signing Milinkovic-Savic would be bad news for four playersFA confirm decision on Henderson and Gabriel bust-up during Arsenal vs Liverpool Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Chelsea may need a sharper striker.
