Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has three big reasons for snubbing Neymar deal

Chelsea transfer news: Mauricio Pochettino does not want to sign Neymar (Image: GETTY) Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly rejected the opportunity of signing Neymar this summer. The Argentine coach has three big reasons why he doesn’t want a reunion with the Brazil superstar. Pochettino managed Neymar for 18 months at Paris Saint-Germain. The forward is now keen on a move away from the French side before the end of the summer transfer window. Chelsea have been linked with a mega-money deal to sign him in recent months. RMC Sport reported on Monday that talks have not been broken off with the Blues However, Pochettino is said to be against the idea. The Evening Standard says he does not want to take the 31-year-old to Stamford Bridge. PSG would be open to selling Neymar for between £60million and £70m. But Chelsea won’t be entering any negotiations for him. Chelsea transfer news: Mauricio Pochettino managed Neymar at PSG (Image: GETTY) One of the reasons Pochettino is against signing Neymar is his staggeringly high wages. It is claimed he earns £600,000 a week at PSG and it is not financially viable for Chelsea to have a player on such a big salary. The second reason is there are concerns that Neymar is not the right profile of player for the culture Pochettino is trying to build. Thirdly, it is also claimed that Neymar would not suit the style of football the former Spurs boss is intending to play. Chelsea sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley are said to be in agreement with Pochettino’s stance. They all believe a move for Neymar would not be the right decision for the club. Neymar will have to look elsewhere if he were to leave PSG in this window. He would like to return to Barcelona but that will not be something the La Liga club would be able to pull off financially.
