King Charles III is looking to pay someone £40,000 to plant roses, trim lawns and care for more than 1,000 trees in the Buckingham Palace Gardens.
The green-fingered monarch, known for having chinwags with plants, is looking for someone ‘passionate about plants’ to work 39 hours at the palace.
An advertisement on the Royal Household website for a garden manager says: ‘It’s caring for the gardens that thousands will admire.
‘It’s developing others whilst growing your own skills. And it’s the pride in leading a team at the heart of a world-famous institution. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.’
The garden manager is tasked with maintaining and keeping the palace gardens to an ‘exceptional presentation’ from Monday to Sunday.
