Carlos Sainz ends Red Bull streak at Singapore GP as George Russell gamble ends in crash

A tense and enthralling Singapore Grand Prix ended with a brawl for the win with Carlos Sainz leading and holding off Lando Norris and the charging George Russell and Lewis Hamilton behind him

Carlos Sainz held off a late charge from Mercedes to win the Singapore Grand Prix and be the one to finally end Red Bull’s winning streak, while George Russell crashed as he pushed to snatch the glory for himself.

Max Verstappen came into the weekend hoping for 11 victories in a row, but Red Bull just couldn’t get their cars to work at the Marina Bay Circuit. It opened the door for their rivals to finally get some glory for the first time in 2023.

Ferrari managed it, Sainz leading the race from start to finish. He managed his pace and tyres perfectly to keep Russell at arm’s length.

And when Mercedes gambled by pitting both drivers for faster tyres, he had a big enough advantage to make sure he would not be caught. Lewis Hamilton climbed up to fourth behind Lando Norris as Russell pushed too hard and lost control, crashing out.
