According to Cadena COPE, De Gea has been considered by Madrid's hierarchy, however, Ancelotti is unconvinced by United's former goalkeeper and would 'veto' the signing, even as a free transfer. The report claims that Sevilla goalkeeper Bono is one of the names at the top of Madrid's shortlist, however, the Spanish club face the prospect of losing the Morocco international to the Africa Cup of Nations in January. Thibaut Courtois is due to undergo surgery after suffering a cruciate ligament injury (Twitter) Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili is also on Madrid's shortlist after being one of the standout goalkeepers in La Liga last season. De Gea, meanwhile, is still searching for a new club after leaving Manchester United earlier this summer. The 32-year-old was unable to agree a new deal with United after 12 seasons at Old Trafford.
