A former politician was found guilty of murder after the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl almost 40 years ago.
Steven Pankey, who was the Constitution Party’s candidate for Governor of Idaho in two recent elections, was convicted on Monday of kidnapping, murder, and false reporting after Jonelle Matthews disappeared in 1984.
Pankey, 71, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years.
Matthews, who was 12 at the time of her disappearance, was abducted from her home in Greeley, Colorado.
