A Geordie man was caught by police carrying a wad of £20 bank notes – that is until officers noticed a rather specific typo on them.
William Hickson, 33, had £820 cash stuffed in his socks when he was searched at a police station in Newcastle.
Police didn’t bat an eyelid at the 41 bills at first.
But as much as they seemed genuine – having a portrait of economic Adam Smith and pin factory works printed on the reverse side – something was off.
