Call The Midwife halts filming on series 13 as BBC announces set shutdown

BBC drama Call the Midwife has halted production on the upcoming 13th series of the show.

The popular BBC favourite will be taking a break from filming with the show making a lengthy announcement online.

It comes as bosses of the show have given the cast and crew some time off to make the most of the summer.

Sharing a photo of Nurse Nancy Corrigan actress Megan Cusack on Instagram, the star could be seen taking on the role of sound operator as she posed with a microphone alongside one of the show’s crew.

Confirming the “summer recess,” the post from the show read: “This week has been the last week of filming before we take our regular summer break on the production of Series 13 – and there has been a definite end-of-term feel to proceedings…
