Burge-oning hopes of home World Cup triumph

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Tom Burgess increasingly feels this could be England’s year after reaching the World Cup semi-finals.

The 30-year-old former Bradford front rower – playing in his third World Cup – is one of six survivors from the team beaten 6-0 by Australia in the 2017 final.

‘I’ve always got confidence in England,’ Burgess (right) said of their chances of going one better. ‘Every time I pull on this jersey, I’m very proud and confident in our ability. Definitely this year feels good and for myself I’m feeling really good too.

‘Five years on, I’m a more mature player and hopefully I can be a bit of a leader for this England team.’
