Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young struggled on his debut for the NFL franchise – after receiving little help from his offensive line.
The Panthers were taking on the New York Jets in their first pre-season game ahead of the 2023 NFL regular season. The Jets ran out 27-0 winners with the Panthers failing to score a single point.
Young did not start the game, with that honour going to Matt Coral. Young did take to the field in the second half, but endured a difficult time in his first outing in a Panthers jersey as he came under constant pressure.
The 22-year-old was the No.1 pick for the Panthers in the 2023 NFL Draft, following a trade with the Chicago Bears for the first overall selection. It remains to be seen whether the NFC South franchise will have Young as their starting quarterback going into the new season.
