Brits urged not to ignore two signs on your face that could show you have diabetes

Experts at the charity Diabetes UK have pin-pointed two factors on the face that could be a sign of high blood sugar but although you can’t control it, it’s something you can influence

There are two indications on your face that could be a sign of high blood sugar which may possibly lead to diabetes.

Early diagnosis is important so that it does not lead to long term problems and the experts at the charity Diabetes UK have pin-pointed symptoms and red flags that shouldn’t be ignored.

Medics say significant weight loss seen in the face can be a sign of high blood sugar levels. However, it could be a sign of many serious illnesses. According to WebMD, another potential sign of high blood sugar is a staphylococcus bacterial infection.

The NHS point out that “persistent” and “unintentional” weight loss “of more than five percent of your weight over six to 12 months is usually a cause for concern”. An infection, meanwhile, can lead to a stye – described by Johns Hopkins Medicine as a tender red bump on the edge of the eyelid.
