Brits face HUGE 150% rise in holiday car park prices

The UK’s major airports have been ranked for their parking prices, with costs soaring at some locations by up to 150% – but there has also been good news for some travellers at an airport where the prices have dropped

Brits heading off on holiday this summer will find prices of airport parking at some locations has soared by over 150% compared to last year.

New figures compiled for The Mirror, looking at data for 10 major airports, found most long and short stay parking has gone up in price, in a further blow to holidaymakers who have already experienced increased costs, such as for flights and package deals.

The data, from YourParkingSpace, looked at a nine-month average cost at the airports’ official car parks from this coming August to April 2024, comparing it to last year.

Birmingham Airport went up the most, with a short stay average for four days over a Friday to Monday going up from £43.99 to £111.32 – a whopping 153% hike.
