MANCHESTER CITY fan Liam Broady couldn’t replicate the great heights of his football club – but he did bank a whopping £131k.
The 29-year-old became the final British men’s singles player to crash out of Wimbledon on day five despite a gutsy performance over Canada’s Denis Shapovalov.
He had promised his mum a slap-up meal after claiming the biggest win of his career against No 4 Casper Ruud on Centre Court on Thursday.
And despite his exit, they can dine out on his glittering run at SW19 – where he captured the nation this year.
It was a red-hot start for Broady in front of a packed-out, scorching Court Two who coined a new football-esque “Broaaaady” chant.
