According to the New York Times, all of the individuals aboard the submersible showed a certain excitement for the trip after being convinced of its safety by CEO Stockton Rush. At 58, Harding was the chairman of Action Aviation and had previously undertaken trips like this before - with Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket company, and to the South Pole with astronaut Buzz Aldrin. His last post stated that he was excited, being prepped for the journey and that the entire group was put on alert for 'weather concerns' before they left. 'I am proud to finally announce that I joined @oceangateexped for their RMS TITANIC Mission as a mission specialist on the sub going down to the Titanic,' Harding posted on his Facebook and Instagram. 'Until then we have a lot of preparations and briefings to do. More expedition updates to follow IF the weather holds!'
