British billionaire Hamish Harding was known for taking risks and travelling as exotically as possible, and his last four photos posted on social media reveal excitement and some doubts about boarding the Titan submersible
Hamish Harding captured four last photos and posted them on his social media accounts just before boarding the Titan submersible, along with some doubts about actually going down in the submersible.
Titan was supposed to visit the ruins of the Titanic ship several times this year, but weather conditions made the trips impossible. In Harding’s last post, the weather and waves were still a concern for the British billionaire and the rest of the crew – but Oceangate’s CEO decided last minute they were not in any immediate danger.
“Due to the worst winter in Newfoundland in 40 years, this mission is likely to be the first and only manned mission to the Titanic in 2023. A weather window has just opened up and we are going to attempt a dive tomorrow,” wrote Harding in his final post.
According to the New York Times, all of the individuals aboard the submersible showed a certain excitement for the trip after being convinced of its safety by CEO Stockton Rush.
