British Airways to require photo ID for domestic flights

Passengers travelling with British Airways will from next week be required to present photographic identification in order to board domestic flights.

The change in policy will bring BA into line with rival domestic airlines such as easyJet which already require passengers to carry photo ID for flights within the country.

BA does not currently insist on identification for customers travelling solely within the UK and carrying only hand luggage, although it does suggest that they bring some.

• Why digital ID is what travel has been waiting for

That will change from Friday, September 1, when anyone aged 16 or over will have to bring one form of photo ID such as a passport, driving licence or EU national identity card.
