A BRIT man has died while diving off a beach in Lanzarote.
The 60-year-old is said to have had a heart attack on Playa Flamingo in the south of the island.
The tragedy occurred around midday on Monday.
A lifeguard is understood to have tried to help the Brit when he saw he was in difficulty – but was unable to do anything to save his life.
Enrique Espinosa, manager of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, said: “He had all the correct permits to be able to dive but diving is a high-risk sport and anything that goes wrong can be fatal.
