 A bride and groom have been reunited with their pet cat after she accidentally hitched a ride to the couple's wedding venue. Alice Harris, 30, and husband Alex, 34, got married at Longton Wood near Maidstone, Kent, on June 3, and were separated from Honey the cat for four weeks. On the eve of their wedding day, the couple drove 30 miles from their home in Biggin Hill to the venue, having no idea their long-haired tabby pet had hitched a ride in the back. When Alice's sister, Victoria, unloaded the van at the wedding venue, Honey made a dash for it and disappeared into nearby woodland. Before the family had a chance to catch her, Honey became disorientated and ventured further out into the woodland. Alice and Alex had to celebrate the big day knowing Honey was missing. Over the past month, the couple drove 720 miles and spent more than £2,500 in their quest to find Honey. They even spent their honeymoon week shaking cat treats near the wedding venue, and hired a pet detective to try and find the elusive tabby. I had to walk along the carriageway of a motorway to identify a carcass someone thought might be Honey. Luckily for us it was just a badger.' The couple were eventually told a cat matching Honey's description was found near the location she went missing. Marketing executive Alex said: 'At this point we had been through too much to get our hopes up. It had been such a rollercoaster of emotions.'
