This therefore presented a safety hazard. Eventually, the match did begin six minutes late. However, when things did kick-off, there was still no water in the stadium. But the referee decided it was the correct decision to get the game going in the hope the issue would soon be rectified. And ten minutes into the match, water was flowing back around the stadium. This was the second time this weekend that kick-off of a Premier League game was delayed after a ticketing issue caused Arsenal's clash with Nottingham Forest to be pushed back.
