At least 20 people have reportedly been crushed to death after a stampede amongst Halloween crowds in the South Korean capital of Seoul.

Fire services were administrating CPR to at least 50 people in the Itaewon district as of 11.30 pm (2.30pm GMT) on Saturday, according to the Yonhap news agency.

The death toll is understood to be at least 20, according to multiple media reports.

Harrowing social media footage showed several people being assisted by rescue officials and private citizens at the scene. The authenticity of the footage has not yet been verified.
